The situation

The challenge

The Perfect Trade is a trade journal and analysis tool built by Swing Trading Lab on Bolt.new, with 30,000+ users and over 7,000 logged trades. It got there fast. Too fast for the infrastructure underneath it. By the time Red Mage came in, the team had been stuck on three critical bugs for weeks, deploying directly to main without version control, and sitting one bad push away from a production break that could wipe user data.

Three blockers were killing the product. Authentication errors locking users out. Image loading failures degrading the experience. And a data integrity issue where users were losing their saved trade journals entirely. That last one was the biggest risk to the business, and it kept compounding with no safety net underneath it.

The work

What was built

All three critical bugs resolved in one week. Auth errors fixed. Image loading restored. The table insert logic causing journal data loss located and corrected.

Then the foundation got professionalized. A proper Git branching workflow replaced the “push to main” approach. A custom Git Branch Visualizer was built directly in Bolt to make branching and merging concepts concrete for the team. A full “Golden Path” deployment guide was delivered: video walkthroughs, documentation, and a repeatable process for pushing from Bolt to GitHub to Vercel safely. Unit and E2E testing strategy included.

In their words

Client review

Working with Andrés was great. He quickly understood our technical issues, fixed everything efficiently, and explained the process clearly. High-quality work and helped us solve problems we had for weeks. Awesome job!

The outcome

Results

Three production-blocking bugs resolved in one week. 30,000+ users back on a stable platform. Deployment workflow that makes a serious production break significantly less likely.
