The situation

The challenge

Entera Skincare is a science-driven brand led by biochemical engineer Nick Andrews. Their digital needs are complex: peptide product education, affiliate tracking through Refersion, subscription management via Appstle, and a brand standard that can't slip. Red Mage came in as fractional technical director after an initial stabilization phase, handling everything from campaign launches to infrastructure conflicts.

A high-growth brand generates a constant stream of technical needs that don't fit neatly into a project scope. Seasonal campaigns need to launch fast. Subscription revenue has to stay uninterrupted. Site-wide bugs that previous developers introduced need to be cleaned up without breaking anything else. Nick and his co-founder, Ashley, needed a partner who could handle all of it without either of them being the ones to triage it.

The work

What got built and maintained

Seasonal campaign infrastructure including Valentine's Day bundles, promotional landing pages, and site-wide asset audits to resolve clashes between legacy branding and the updated visual identity.

A critical conflict between Cloudflare and the customer portal, one that was serving blank screens to real customers, got tracked down and fixed. Microsoft Clarity was integrated for behavioral analytics, and Appstle subscription flows were debugged to protect recurring revenue.

Over 20 product metadata fields that previous developers had implemented incorrectly got cleaned up, improving both SEO and product filtering accuracy. CSS clipping issues on the rewards pages were fixed to keep brand quality intact on high-traffic pages.

The outcome

Results

26%+ sustained performance improvement. Zero downtime across high-traffic campaign launches. Subscription revenue uninterrupted. Nick and Ashley stopped spending weekends fighting Shopify bugs.
